Yin Yoga

A Path Inward

1 h 15 minIntera Studio

About The Practice

Rooted in Taoist philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine, Yin Yoga welcomes beginners and experienced students to meet intensity with stillness. Through long-held, mostly floor-based shapes (typically 2–4 minutes), breathwork, and mindful pauses, this practice gently targets the body's connective tissues and joints while supporting energetic balance and a meditative state. Unlike more dynamic (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize muscular engagement, Yin focuses on the fascia, ligaments, and connective tissues. The extended holds create space to soften physical resistance, quiet the mind, and notice subtle shifts in the body, breath, and energy, Modifications and props are encouraged, and hands-on assists may be offered with consent. *Please note: Every Intera teacher brings their own unique style and intention to class, so elements such as lighting, music, consensual hands-on assists, the physical orientation of class, and the length of Savasana (up to 10 minutes) may vary. What remains consistent is our commitment to offering a welcoming, inclusive, and thoughtfully held experience where every person is invited to practice in the way that feels right for them.
