Intera Yoga Etiquette Guidelines
In order to maintain a comfortable, respectful, and inclusive experience that fosters an environment conducive to all eight limbs of yoga, we ask that anyone in attendance of any Intera Yoga's offerings follow the following etiquette guidelines:
Environment & Community Respect
-
Arrive up to 15 minutes early to get checked in, and settled into class. The door will be locked during practice for your safety and the security of your personal belongings.
-
Shoes should be removed before entering the practice space to set up your mat.
-
Store personal belongings in designated areas and keep walkways and practice spaces clear of non-essential items to help maintain a safe environment for everyone.
-
Water is allowed in the practice space provided it is a container with a sealable lid.
-
Please remain quiet and keep any talking to a minimum or a whisper when in the practice space. For some, yoga may be the only opportunity for quiet reflection that they get in their day. It is important to respect and create space for that for one another.
-
Refrain from adjusting any studio technology, lighting, or the thermostat. You may make suggestions to the instructor, but trust their professional judgment to create the appropriate environment for their class.
-
Use kind, respectful, and considerate language when interacting with fellow students, instructors, staff, volunteers, and guests.
-
Always knock on closed restroom doors and wait for a response before entering.
-
Neatly organize and put away any and all props or borrowed equipment you have used during practice.
-
Please ensure all personal belongings are accounted for, and leave all shared spaces neat and tidy before departing. Intera Yoga LLC is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Technology & Privacy
-
ALL TECHNOLOGY should be either completely turned off, or silenced and put on “Do Not Disturb Mode,” and put away with other personal belongings for the duration of class.
-
Texting, responding to emails, messages, or notifications of any kind is strictly prohibited during class.
-
Photography, video recording, and live streaming during classes is prohibited unless expressly permitted by the instructor or event organizer and only with the consent of all participants who may appear in the recording or photograph.
-
Please avoid phone conversations inside the studio or practice space and refrain from using speakerphone at any time while on the premises.
-
Failure to comply with any of the above mentioned may result in being asked to remove your technology from the practice space, or leave the class, and will be reported to management.
-
Health & Safety
-
Inform your instructor of any injuries, health conditions, physical limitations, or other concerns that may affect your participation so they can support you appropriately within their scope of practice.
-
You are responsible for listening and responding to your body with compassion.
-
Take rest, water, and bathroom breaks when needed. Stay home and rest if you are ill, or may be contagious out of respect and care for our community.
-
-
Please wear clothing that allows for safe and comfortable movement and does not restrict breathing. Garments should remain secure and provide appropriate coverage throughout movement in a shared public practice environment.
-
Please practice good hygiene and avoid wearing or spraying any strong perfumes, fragrances, essential oils, and scented products, as some community members may have sensitivities, allergies, or medical conditions affected by scent exposure.
-
Please respect personal boundaries and avoid physical contact with other participants unless clear consent has been given.
-
Chewing gum, vaping, smoking, alcohol, and the use of tobacco products are not permitted during class or on the premises. Food is not permitted during practice or in the practice space unless pregnant or otherwise approved by the instructor.
-
Weapons of any kind are prohibited on the physical property, or in practice spaces.
